From 'Pipe cutter plasma' to Fiber Laser Bed: Why We Chose Bodor

  • Check whether the brand has an official website with real manuals and part lists. That tells you more than a brochure.
  • Be honest about your workflow. If you only cut heavy pipe, a pipe cutter plasma might be the right tool. A fiber laser is not automatically better.
No machine is "the best" for every shop. The best machine fits your material mix, your operators, and your accounting department.

Looking back, I should have brought the operators into the equipment search earlier. At the time, I thought I was saving their time by not dragging them to demos. I was wrong. The demo is what turned a suspicious budget line into a decision everyone supported.

One more thing: don't let a finance team make the final decision alone. They need to see the machine run. Our CFO came to the demo, and I think that made the capital request easier to approve.

I still check prices occasionally. Laser equipment changes fast, and Bodor's current lineup on their official website is different from what we bought in September 2024.
